Difference between Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha
First thing first lets talk about the origin of these two houses of democracy in India. Article 81 and 80 of Indian Constitution finds mention of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively. The names, ‘Lok Sabha’ &’ ‘Rajya Sabha’ were adopted in 1954 by the Indian Parliament.
The members of Lok Sabha are directly elected by people and it is also known as the Lower House. Whereas the members of Rajya Sabha are not directly elected by people and it is also called as Upper House. Lok Sabha is also known as House of People and the Rajya Sabha is known as the Council of States
